Tissue Clearing: Illuminating 3D Brain Anatomy at Very High Resolutions
نویسنده
چکیده
New Clearing Procedure ScaleS: Researchers at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute in Japan have developed a new technique for creating transparent tissue that can be used to illuminate 3D brain anatomy at very high resolutions. Published in Nature Neuroscience, the work showcases the new technology and its practical importance in clinical science by showing how it has given new insights into Alzheimer’s disease plaques.

متن کاملA hierarchical Convolutional Neural Network for Segmentation of Stroke Lesion in 3D Brain MRI
Introduction: Brain tumors such as glioma are among the most aggressive lesions, which result in a very short life expectancy in patients. Image segmentation is highly essential in medical image analysis with applications, particularly in clinical practices to treat brain tumors. Accurate segmentation of magnetic resonance data is crucial for diagnostic purposes, planning surgical treatments, a...

resolutions (currently ~20-30μm) [5]. μMRI has the advantage of generating digitized 3D images, simplifying subsequent image analyses. More importantly, μMRI is non-destructive, provides excellent soft tissue contrast, preserves tissue and blood vessel architecture, and one can obtain μMRI images with various kinds of “physiological stains” or image contrast, e.g. diffusion-weighted μMRI to vis...
